In a continuation of the discussion of the medical record, Cindy has a unique position and speaks from experience. As a CLNI (Certified Legal Nurse Investigator) and LNC (Legal Nurse Consultant), she shares with us actual instances and common mistakes our peers often make while documenting. Listen in and watch as Cindy continues her presentation to the attendees at the Wild On Wounds Conference in Las Vegas Nevada

Protein: Critical in Pressure Ulcer Healing
Sue Bell, RN, BN
This program provides clinicians with a greater understanding of how nutrition, and specifically protein, helps prevent
pressure ulcer occurrence and impacts wound healing and tissue regeneration, while providing a closer look at protein and the physiological effects of protein energy malnutrition in the elderly. Updated published clinical outcome data on the effects of increased protein on wound healing will also be presented.

Donna Sardina, RN, MHA, WCC
Along with common risk factors for skin breakdown and wound healing complications,
bariatric patients have additional factors and co-morbidities that can challenge even the
most seasoned wound care professional. This session focuses on skin integrity of bariatric
patients, details different types of skin problems associated with obesity and offers practical
suggestions for preventing and treating them. The physiological requirements and
complications of wound healing associated with obesity will be discussed, accompanied by
interventions for treatment and multidisciplinary strategies for the wounded bariatric patient.

Global Wound Care
Drew Griffin, LPN, WCC
As healthcare professionals, one of our responsibilities is to teach our patients, their families
and our peers about wound care. In fact, part of our requirements for recertification is to
teach the community about wound care related topics. What a profound opportunity we have
to teach a “global” community through the internet. Web 2.0, Social Media and Social
Networking are becoming an integral part of our lives. We will discuss the power and reach
that these tools have. More and more patients, families and healthcare professionals are
turning to the internet for information about wound care. We should harness this opportunity
and give it to them.

Sharp Debridement Certificate Program Part 1

What’s Going Down? Venous Reflux, Lymphatic Damage and Chronic Wounds Part 1
Robyn Bjork, MPT, WCC, CLT
George A. Fall, MD
You’ve implemented gold standards for venous stasis ulcer management. But have you considered the underlying venous
reflux and new procedures which can correct it? Are you able to recognize key signs of secondary lymphedema, and do you know how treatment can improve the wound milieu? Journey with us through the venous and lymphatic systems to understand what’s going down and how to reverse it.

Heal Your Wounds by Plugging In!!! Electrotherapeutic Modalities for Wound Care Part 1
Cheryl Robillard, PT, WCC, CLT
You have heard of some of them and perhaps seen the end results of their use. But do you know what they are and what they do? This session will review a variety of electrotherapeutic modalities for chronic wounds, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, shortwave diathermy, laser, infrared, and ultrasonic nebulization. Indication, contraindications, and parameters for use will be presented. See some of the machines that will be discussed and learn how they work.
